Reviews and Ratings
I was on the 1st Floor with nice views but experienced some noise from the street and train station. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, though I had to keep the window open and heard road noise. The hotel was well-kept with nice furnishings.
The hotel's rooms are excellent, clearly trying very hard and deserve success; they were clean and as stated compact but lovely with good views and facilities for disabled guests. The service had a great nights sleep and the staff were very helpful, even though they decided to serve people who had just walked in for coffee rather than look after us so we did not know there were juices and cereal, near Historic Dockyard and Gunwharf Quays. The location is perfect for Gumwharf shopping, rail and ferry, even though it was very run down; it is great, with friendly staff and a great English breakfast, close to everything you could want in Portsmouth. The dining experience was more than a full English, though it was 'not a boutique hotel' standard, as an example-sachets of brown sauce and ketchup that I had to go and ask for, which was also quite nice from the bedroom. The facilities were good with homemade pastries provided.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! It's within walking distance of all the bars and restaurants at Gunwharf, and the price was great. The room, although small, was cozy with a high window providing a nice view. Plus, they even had biscuits and hot chocolate waiting for me!
